Research Blog #3
- Why do people feel the need to blurt out anything that they could on a social networking site?
This question is trying to ask if people have the urge to post everything that happens on a social networking site? And if so, why would they want to advertise every last thing that they're doing on the internet? I want to see if the average person who tweets, posts, writes on a wall of a friend/acquaintance for a very legitimate reason, or to type something leisurely and frivolous. This act is called "oversharing" or "oversharing on Facebook" where something could be interpreted as sharing too much information. What I found on the matter is an article on Women'sHealth that I think share's the real answer.
This article explains what over-sharing is, and the different time of over-sharers that show themselves on Facebook. There are people who share a disguisting habits, stating "The rash on my bottom is

Q=Question from my research Blog
What does the legendary "Facebook Drama" look like?
What my research question is trying to say is that what trouble does Facebook cause? I want to try to explain how this trouble erupts on this specific website. So I went ahead and started to collect research on this topic of trouble coming from Facebook. What I found was an article that says a man kills his wife because she changed her marital statuas from "Married" to "Single." I found this article on BBC News, and I think article will amplify the effects of using social media is an overall bad effect and negative impact on our community or any community.
What this article says in that 41 year old Edward Richardson brutally stabbed and killed his 26 year old wife, Sarah Richardson. He went into a frenzy when he saw what his wife did. So this led to the man frantically getting to his wife so that he can brutally attack and stab her. The reason why he would do this is because he still wanted to be committed to this woman, but seeing her status update on Facebook was enough to drive him stark crazy.
This article answers my question by a man literally killing is wife over a status update on Facebook. I would consider this an extreme, with heavy emphasize on the word, case of Facebook Drama, if you could call it that. In my opinion, this greatly exceeds the line of "Facebook Drama" because some guy went into a berserking rage because of a simple notification on Facebook. This would not have affected a person that takes social networking in moderation because the person would still know that the marriage is still binding due to the contract. It devastated this man so much because he used Facebook too much.

Research blog
The film topic I plan to introduce is how social networking and/or effects teenage relationships. I want to show how this issue is too prevalent in our generations of teenagers or young adults. Researching this topic needs to be shown because it does more harm to our younger society, rather then helps. If I were to go to anyway walking on the street, I could almost guarantee that someone could give me a story about how social networking has negatively effected a relationship of theirs; whether it be family, romantic, or friendship. Also, I want the watcher of my film to walk away with the experience of how to know what effect that too much social networking has, and hopefully how to deal or even completely avoid issues.
This issue has been incorporated into my life. What I mean, is that a problem erupted because of a specific social networking website, Facebook. I saw a family member's marriage fall apart. His wife frequently posted their problems on Facebook, thinking that other people will try to help with their marital problems. Not only did she not receive help, she was slandered for the most part, for posting their business and problems on a site that's not suppose to publicize such things.
Things I have to research around my topic:

- What are the real effects of pressing the "Like" button to a certain thing?
- What age group does this effect?

Film Blog
My film is about how social networking and/or technology affects teenage relationships. This film consists of a young couple being interviewed. The young couple we are interviewing will be Giovanni and Lisselotte. In the interview, they open up and give us their thesis on our topic. Does social networking actually affect teenage relationships? We also have a plan to juxtapose this couple with persons of an older generation. D'vante's parents Erick and Jenese Belisle, who are still together, still married, and has 3 kids, interviewing them to get the idea of how they dated without this much availability to technology and the internet. Was it easier without all the need for this technology and internet? Or was it harder to make contact just because they didn't have as much communication as we do now?
The emerging story is how upsetting it actually is to date, or even heavily rely on technology to communicate with your partner. In our film, we would like to reveal the problem with using social networking so much, we want to expose the frequent problems that always seem to emerge or come out of using a social networking sites. Heading into recording and producing this film, we want to show that it is bad to use social networking sites too often. We also chose this topic because it seemed as though it is an issue that can be related with very easily. A teen could easily give a story about how a social networking site caused them some harm in anyway.
The research I will need to do for this film is gathering statistics on how many teens use the internet and how many people have some kind of social networking account. I will also make and print out surveys to give to random people to evaluate if the New Design population has had some trouble with dealing with relationships, or even friendships regarding a social network site/account.

iMovie Blog
In the workshop working with Imovie, Kwan gave us a tutorial on how to use the application. He showed use that we could use visual effects and sound effects that could help us enhance our film. He showed us that we could even upload music to our film. Knowing all of this will push the quality of our film even more, making it so much better. Kwan also showed us a quick lesson on editing. On how we are able to cut clips to make it shorter and more sensible. Then will come in handy when I want to cut unnecessary parts out of the film.

Cinematography Blog
Ariana helped me understand the shots that were happening as the film went on. The B-Roll shots that I liked the most where the static shot of the people making the items that they need. In the movie, the director got a shot of the clouds passing, and the sun setting. This shows how much time has passed and judging from how fast the clouds moved, it would be safe to say that a good amount of hours passed by. What Ariana also explained to us is the different kind of B-Rolls. There are the close up shots, where it's pretty self explanatory, a Bird's Eye View is being in the sky, or high above, and filming whats below. A Ground shot s setting the camera on the ground and filming upward.
I am glad to have this knowledge of these B-rolls that Ariana gave to use. Now I can incorporate this into my film. I envision of getting a bird's eye view of a person randomly chatting on their phone, or get a close up of someone that's really planted on the computer who is very intently on Facebook. The possibilities are great.
